Persistent Disequilibrium - Performances and exhibition at Rosendal Teater 2024

This time we made it to the big theatre! The project “Persistent Disequilibrium” was shown both as a performance and an exhibition at Rosendal Teater May 2024. It was made by the artist collective Pixels.Frames.Beats.Drones (Jeremy Welsh, Tijs Ham, Trond Lossisus, Øyvind Brandtsegg). The installation/performance concept is based around resonance, vibration, recycling, sound phenomena and available materials.

The objects of the installation was used as musical and visual instruments in the performance, and the resulting spatial/scenographic result was shown as exhibition the day after. Then, this spatial configuration was the starting point of a second performance in the evening.
The performance and exhibition was part of the Meta.Morf biennal for art and technology, with this year’s curatorial theme [up]Loaded Bodies.

As this room was considerably larger than any we had worked in so far, we did upscale many of the installations. The large feedback plate was 2.5 meters long in this instance, and the ferrofluid aquarium was upsized quite a bit. We also made several new physical installations, like the water drums and the vibrating prisms.
